These Little Piggies...

Before I get to the goods for dads, have to share a bit of our weekend fun.

The girls and I kicked off summer with their annual haircuts!  Except our sweet hairdresser Ashley reminded me it had actually been 2 years since they had, had haircuts.  (COVID!)  They're girls...they like their hair long... and they really don't require a lot of styling so we just don't get their haircut very often.  Luci's hair is so curly that as it grows it tends to just curl and shrink up, but Anni's was getting very noticeably stringy and kind of limp.  So it was time.

I have to say I'm really proud of her.  She takes amazingly good care of her hair; washes and conditions it all herself, brushes it morning, night and after she showers...so it really hasn't been a problem.  But I just felt like it was time to give her a little lift.  She was not so certain...but she loved the idea of donating her hair.   (And of course I told her it would grow back).  But I did have to catch my breath a little bit when Ashley handed me her little braids.   My baby's hair!

(Now taking suggestions about where to donate these precious little piggies... but also being totally honest that it's going to be hard to put them in an envelope and send them off...they're still sitting on my desk right here beside me while I work)

We also had a super fun opportunity to serve as a family as part of the For Columbia project with some friends.  Have you heard of For Columbia?  One Day.  Volunteers from over 38 local churches come together for the sole purpose of serving our city.   This year we were placed at Special Olympics.
(This is the only picture I have of us from the day...Jeremy probably doesn't love that he was apparently caught mid-sentence in this shot.)

In the past I've served at True North and Jeremy has also been part of a team who went into individual's homes who need help with some basic clean up and maintenance issues.  If you'd like more info about  how to get involved let me know!

Now...looking ahead for the next couple of weeks...
